Panel Advises Against Closing More L.A. Schools
- Share via
A Los Angeles school district task force has advised against closing any more schools in the city.
Because of a surging birth rate, the panel said, the district expects to enroll 70,000 more students in the next five years, and even distant suburban schools are quickly filling up.
The report of the Districtwide Underutilized School Sites Committee will be forwarded to the school board, which can accept or reject the recommendation or take no further action on it.
