Local News in Brief : Moorpark Post Office Burglar Takes Nothing
The Moorpark Post Office was broken into Wednesday night, but nothing was taken and the incident is not being linked to a rash of daylight post office robberies in Los Angeles, postal officials said.
Monte Preston, postmaster at the High Street post office, said security bars and a window were pried open but that nothing was stolen, even though expensive office machinery was in the building.
Lott Steffey, a postal inspector, said the fact that nothing was taken indicated that the break-in was not connected to the Los Angeles post office robberies.
Steffey said there are no suspects. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department is also investigating.
