Culver City Mayor Paul Jacobs, 43, suffered broken ribs, a broken collarbone and a scalp cut in a hit-and-run traffic accident. Los Angeles police said Jacobs had stopped his car at the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Washington Boulevard when another driver ran a red light and crashed his vehicle into Jacobs’ car, sending it skidding across a lane of traffic and into a third vehicle. The driver of the car that ran the red light stopped, surveyed the damage, and headed north from the scene at high speed, witnesses said. Jacobs and the driver of the third car were taken to Brotman Medical Center, where the other driver was released after treatment for minor injuries and Jacobs was reported in satisfactory condition.
