The first of two reactors at the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant near San Luis Obispo was tested at 90% capacity for the first time. “We’re putting out more than 1 million kilowatts,” spokesman Ron Weinberg said. Full-power operation of Unit 1 is scheduled for this spring.
