An Inglewood man turned himself in to police after a triple shooting in South-Central Los Angeles early Sunday morning that left one woman dead and her twin sister and a man wounded.

Hoburt Walter Jacobs, 43, was booked on suspicion of murder and attempted murder in connection with the shootings inside a home in the 600 block of East 82nd Street.

Denise Brown, 19, died at the scene, police said. Her twin sister, Deneen Whitaker of Inglewood, was wounded in the face by a shot from a handgun and was listed in satisfactory condition after surgery at Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital.

Victor L. Wilson, 20, of Los Angeles, who was shot in the stomach, was listed in stable condition at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in West Los Angeles.

Detectives said details of the shootings remained sketchy Sunday because Jacobs began to suffer chest pains during questioning and was hospitalized. He was listed in satisfactory condition at County-USC Medical Center’s jail ward.

Witnesses who were in another part of the house when the shooting occurred told police that Jacobs arrived at the residence about 1:40 a.m. An argument began a few minutes later, and witnesses heard several gunshots inside the house.
