Three men suspected in 12 restaurant robberies and the shooting of an off-duty Signal Hill police officer in one of them have been arrested by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies. Bobby Gray, 27; Lorenzo Justice, 21, and Randy Fleming, 19, all of Los Angeles, were booked for investigation of attempted murder and robbery and held without bail. Deputies, staking out several restaurants in the Cerritos and Bellflower area, spotted a car fitting the description of one involved in the robberies, a sheriff’s spokesman said. They stopped it at Lakewood Boulevard and Maple Avenue in Bellflower and arrested the suspects. One of three guns found in the car allegedly belonged to a Signal Hill officer who had tried to stop robbers fleeing from the holdup of a Long Beach restaurant recently. That officer was not injured, but a second off-duty officer was seriously wounded in the incident.
