Titans Lose Tri-Meet to Utah, Alabama
The Cal State Fullerton women’s gymnastics team lost a tri-meet to top-ranked Utah and Alabama at Utah.
Utah, four-time defending national champion, scored 189.10, compared to the Crimson Tide’s 187.50 and the Titans’ 187.25. The meet counts as two losses and puts fourth-ranked Fullerton at 15-4 for the season.
Despite the losses, the Titans’ Taunia Rogers turned in an impressive performance winning the balance beam (9.55) and the floor exercise (9.75). The junior from Washington tied Utah’s Lynn Lederer for second in the all-around competition. Alabama’s Penney Hauschild won the all-around.
