Man, 31, Fatally Injured as Cycle Hits Freeway Railing

An Artesia man was fatally injured Saturday near the intersection of the Riverside Freeway and the Orange Freeway when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guard rail, according to the Orange County coroner’s office.

Terry Lynn Sisemore, 31, suffered head injuries at the scene of the accident, a transition road from the eastbound 91 to the northbound 57, and was taken to the UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was pronounced dead, according to Rick Plows, senior deputy coroner.

There is some dispute, Plows said, over whether Sisemore was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The California Highway Patrol says that the victim was not wearing one, but Plows said that Gary Cordray, also of Artesia, insisted that Sisemore had been wearing a helmet. Cordray identified himself to a coroner’s investigator on the scene as Sisemore’s brother-in-law and said he was riding a motorcycle nearby at the time of the accident. No helmet was recovered and Cordray could not be reached Saturday night.
