Three Nigerian nationals have been arrested on suspicion of fraudulently applying for $30,000 in federally guaranteed student loans at Ventura County community colleges, officials said. Detective Jean Miller of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said the three are believed to be part of a group that has obtained loan money fraudulently at several colleges throughout Southern California. Miller said the three are suspected of filing a total of 12 falsified loan applications at the Ventura, Moorpark and Oxnard colleges. Augustine Akinola Rotibi, 28, Johnson Abia Uko, 27, and Michael Olubenga Oluwole, 26, were booked into Ventura County Jail, where they remain on $50,000 bail each.
