A Camp Pendleton Marine was killed Sunday after he was thrown from the back of a motorcycle in the 2600 block of Oceanside Boulevard, authorities reported. Cpl. Charles Moss Jr., 22, was pronounced dead at the scene just after 1:30 a.m., according to Deputy Coroner William Leard. The motorcycle’s driver, Cpl. Javier Martinez, 22, of Camp Pendleton, was in stable condition at the Navy Hospital in Balboa Park. Martinez was traveling west on Oceanside Boulevard when he lost control of the motorcycle, striking a curb and fire hydrant.
