Killanin’s Lass Wins Feature at Santa Anita
Killanin’s Lass gained the lead in midstretch and held it to the wire Wednesday and captured the $86,400 Santa Lucia Handicap at Santa Anita.
Ridden by Gary Stevens, Killanin’s Lass finished three-quarters of a length in front of the fast-closing Foggy Moon, ridden by Fernando Toro. Circular, ridden by Chris McCarron, finished third, another half-length back.
Clocked in 1:43 4/5 for 1 1/16 and sent off as the 2-1 choice, Killanin’s Lass paid $6.60, $3.20 and $2.60.
