Newport Beach : Peace Group Sponsoring Appearance by Musician

Share

The United Peace Network, a newly formed group that aims eventually to link anti-nuclear groups around the country, will be host to a concert by activist-musician Stephen Longfellow Fiske today. The Newport Beach event, which will be held at the residence of Sally Corngold, 2241 Donnie Road, will also feature a presentation on the peace network by Irvine City Councilman Larry Agran and unsuccessful congressional candidate Carol Ann Bradford. Bradford, a member of the steering committee for the Orange County Alliance for Survival, was defeated by incumbent Rep. Robert Badham (R-Newport Beach) in the race for the 40th Congressional District seat last November.

According to Bradford, the network sent inquiries to more than 4,000 peace groups in March and has received responses from several. The network hopes to organize a convention of peace groups to be held in Los Angeles this September.
