The Region : Snyder’s Ex-Wife Enters Guilty Plea

Share

Michelle Noval, former wife of Los Angeles City Councilman Art Snyder, pleaded guilty to threatening a nurse at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center with a knife, a misdemeanor. Police said Noval, 31, was brought to the hospital by ambulance in November--one day after she was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting--but refused a medical test. Before leaving the emergency room, police said, she told a nurse, “I’ll teach you some manners,” then tried to climb over a nurse’s station with a knife in her hand and cut the victim. Noval also allegedly tried to spray Mace in the face of a policeman, who had to draw his service revolver and slap her in the face to subdue her. She pleaded guilty before Municipal Court Commissioner Barry D. Kohn, who could sentence her to six months in jail and fine her $500 on May 22.
