Fire swept through a two-story commercial building in West Hollywood, doing an estimated $500,000 in damage but injuring no one. Both Los Angeles County and City fire companies fought the 12:15 a.m. blaze at 8505 W. Santa Monica Blvd., where part of one wall of the building collapsed into a parking lot. A second floor record store was gutted and a florist shop on the ground floor was damaged by water and smoke. Cause of the fire was not immediately known.
