The Santa Monica College Board of Trustees has approved several operating guidelines for a child-care center.
The trustees asked that the center, expected to open this fall, offer full-time and part-time child care and that its use be limited to the children of students. They also asked that the center be located near the campus and that its hours be coordinated with class schedules.
An advisory committee of parents and faculty members from the child development program is planned to monitor the program.
