College Baseball : Titans Pound on Anteaters, 15-10

Cal State Fullerton unleashed a torrent of runs to defeat UC Irvine, 15-10, in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. makeup baseball game Tuesday at Irvine.

Fullerton (16-8, 31-27-1), which leads the PCAA southern section, held a 6-5 advantage entering the seventh inning. After scoring one run in the seventh, the Titans put across seven runs in the eighth inning.

Irvine (8-13, 21-26-1) managed five runs in the bottom of the inning, but suffered its fifth loss in a row, nonetheless.

In other college action:

Riverside 11, Chapman 6--The Panthers (6-18, 16-29) lost to host Riverside in California Collegiate Athletic Assn. play.

Riverside was led by Ty Dabyney, who went 3 for 5 with four RBIs, and Dion Noonan, who was 2 for 3 and scored three runs.

Southern California College 5, Pt. Loma 1--The Vanguards clinched first place in the NAIA District 3 Southern Division with Tuesday’s victory in Costa Mesa.

SCC (15-3, 35-15-2) plays host to the four-team District 3 playoffs, which begin May 9.
