Local News in Brief : DWP Restores Power to 70,000 Customers
Electrical power was restored to 70,000 homes and businesses in the northeastern San Fernando Valley by 10:31 p.m. Friday, the Department of Water and Power said.
The outage, which occurred at 8:45 p.m. Friday, was caused by excessive moisture in some equipment at the generating station in Sun Valley, said Ed Freudenburg, a DWP spokesman. The DWP has not determined how the moisture got there.
