The San Gabriel City Council has voted to go to court to acquire property at 1753 S. Del Mar Ave. for a commuter park-and-ride lot. City Administrator Robert Clute said the property, which includes a house and market, is one of four parcels needed to create a parking lot for 120 cars. The city has purchased the other three parcels, Clute said, but has been unable to reach agreement with the owners of the remaining lot. The owners, Porlong, Conisa and Arthur Lew of Los Angeles, are asking $120,000, Clute said, but an appraiser for the city has valued the property at only $82,000.
