A San Bernardino man awaiting trial on charges of drowning his 4-year-old daughter and another girl in a backyard wading pool was found hanged in his jail cell, an apparent suicide. “He was found hanging and the feeling is that he did it,” San Bernardino County sheriff’s spokesman Jim Bryant said of Michael David Fritchey. Fritchey was arrested in the deaths of his daughter, Tiffany, and Paula Forbes, 2, after he walked into a hospital in Grants Pass, Ore., Oct. 20, saying he wanted to kill himself. The children were found Sept. 24 in 10 inches of water in a pool in the backyard of Fritchey’s house.
