The slayings of a Pasadena couple over the weekend appeared to be “gangland style” executions, Mariposa County Sheriff Kenneth Matthys said. The bodies of Robert Roos, 50, and his wife, Inez, 51, were found in their vacation home by a ranch hand on the couple’s 640-acre ranch south of Mariposa. The two were found lying face down side by side on the floor, Matthys said, and both had been shot in the back of the head. Matthys said a substantial amount of money was believed missing from the home. He said Roos cashed a $7,000 check in a Mariposa bank before he and his wife were killed. None of the money was found in the home. Matthys said there are no suspects. Roos ran a truck-ferrying business out of his home in Pasadena, furnishing drivers for trucking firms wanting to move their empty rigs across country.
