Fire gutted two turn-of-the-century bungalows at the Mira Monte Hotel in Pasadena, forcing the evacuation of dozens of guests, authorities said. More than 35 Pasadena firefighters battled the early morning blaze, controlling it before flames could spread to other units of the 35-room hotel, a fire dispatcher said. Fire officials were investigating the cause of the blaze. No damage estimate was available.
