A 2-year-old San Diego boy who fell into a swimming pool apparently was rescued by a neighbor’s dog, which jumped in and pulled him to safety, then went for help, authorities say. The dog, a golden retriever named Charlie, apparently grabbed Jesse Domer by the shirt and dragged him to the side of the pool, depositing him on pool steps, Fire Department spokesman Denis McNeill said. No one actually saw the dog rescue the boy, but “there was no one around (to save the boy) but Charlie,” McNeill said. Charlie also ran into the house and attracted the attention of his owner, Pat Wright, who was visiting with the boy’s mother, Joline Domer, McNeill said. They called paramedics, who took the boy to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was examined by doctors and released a few hours later.
