A man was charged with ramming a Sacramento abortion clinic with a World War II vintage army amphibious vehicle. Police said Alan Swarthout, 44, was found sitting on the tail gate of the vehicle that he had rammed twice into the Pregnancy Consulting Center. Officers said he had smashed a 10-foot hole in a brick wall at the back of the building and knocked out 20 feet of brick and wood in the front. Police said Swarthout, who was charged with misdemeanor vandalism, owns the amphibious vehicle.
