Michelle Noval, former wife of Los Angeles City Councilman Art Snyder, was placed on 24 months’ probation and ordered to perform 300 hours of community service for having made knife threats to a nurse at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center. Police said Noval, 31, was brought to the hospital by ambulance last November--one day after she was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting--but refused a medical test. Before leaving the emergency room, police said, she attempted to climb over a nurse’s station with a knife in her hand. Noval, who faced up to a year in jail, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon before Los Angeles Municipal Court Commissioner Barry D. Kohn.
