Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the discovery Sunday of human skeletal remains in a ravine near Jamul. Sgt. Greg Reynolds said an unidentified Spring Valley woman telephoned deputies at the Lemon Grove substation and led them to the bones, which were in a remote area off California 94 near Steele Canyon Road. The woman told deputies she had found the bones about a month ago, Reynolds said. The cause of death and the victim’s identity are unknown pending an examination of the remains by the San Diego County coroner.
