Dashing Phoebe Wins Rich Kansas Futurity

RUIDOSO DOWNS, N.M. — Dashing Phoebe, with Jerry Nicodemus up, posted a 1-length victory in Sunday’s $512,090 Kansas Futurity at Ruidoso Downs race track.
The 4-5 choice took the lead a dozen strides out of the gates and never was seriously threatened thereafter.
Mango Moon, a 5-1 shot, gained ground in a race for place with King Of Sting, who went off at nearly 15-1. Mango Moon prevailed by a head at the wire with Alex Baldillez in the saddle.
Dashing Phoebe’s victory was worth $219,318 for the San Jose Cattle Co. of Pleasanton, Tex.
