About 250 students met for classes outside and in other areas of the campus for two hours Wednesday because of smoke from a fire that caused $1,000 damage to a restroom in the math and science building at Grover Cleveland High School in Reseda.

No injuries were reported in the fire, which was extinguished in about 10 minutes.

Two firefighting companies were called at 8:24 a.m. to the school at 8140 Vanalden St. said Larry Ford, Fire Department spokesman. Ford said arson is suspected and that the school district is investigating the cause of the fire.
