Driver of Van Dies in Simi Valley Crash
A 23-year-old Simi Valley man who police say ran a stop sign was killed when his van was struck broadside by a car, Simi Valley police said.
Brent J. Christie, 23, was pronounced dead of internal injuries at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday at Simi Valley Adventist Hospital, Sgt. Ken Tacke said.
The driver of the car, Conrad Maxwell, 37, and his son, Cory, 13, both of Simi Valley, were treated and released at the same hospital for minor injuries, police said.
According to Tacke, Christie was southbound on Lemon Street when he ran a stop sign and was struck by Maxwell, who was westbound on Alamo Street.
