Free agent goaltender Glenn Healy of Western Michigan University has signed a contract with the Kings, the team announced Thursday.
Healy, 22, was named Western Michigan’s most valuable player in each of the last two seasons and was a member of Team Canada in the world hockey tournament at Prague, Czechoslovakia, earlier this year.
The Kings also announced that defenseman Rick Lapointe and right wing Mark Lofthouse have re-signed with the team.
In addition, the Kings said they have released goalies Mike Blake and Dave Ross; defensemen Al Sims, Stu Smith and Howie Scruton; left wing Carl Mokosak, and centers Bob Miller and Billy O’Dwyer.
The club also said it bought out the contract of defenseman Russ Anderson.
