150-Seat Restaurant to Open in November

Marilyn Lewis, chairwoman of Hamburger Hamlets Inc., plans to open Kate Mantilini’s Steak House in November. Construction is to start later this month but Lewis plans to keep the decor, theme, menu and origin of the name secret until the opening.

The 150-seat restaurant, to be open 24 hours a day, will occupy a 6,200-square-foot building at 9101 Wilshire Blvd. that once housed a Wells Fargo Bank branch. Illig Construction Co. of Los Angeles is the general contractor. The restaurant was designed by Lewis with architectural assistance from Morphosis of Santa Monica.
