Three San Fernando Valley teen-agers returning from the beach and an unidentified man driving a stolen car were killed Wednesday in a two-car accident in Agoura, the California Highway Patrol said.

Erica Michelle Licht of Woodland Hills and Janine Sue Fastow of Van Nuys, both 15, died shortly after the 1 p.m. accident on Kanan Dume Road about half a mile north of Troutdale Drive, CHP spokesman Ken Rosenberg said.

Also fatally injured was the 18-year-old driver of the small car in which the girls were passengers, Rosenberg said. The name of the driver, a Van Nuys man, was withheld pending notification of relatives.

Rosenberg said that according to witnesses, the driver of a sports car reported stolen in West Los Angeles was heading south at 70 m.p.h. and crossed a double yellow line to pass a moving van when his car slid into the teen-agers’ car. The driver, a man in his 40s or 50s who carried no identification, was fatally injured, Rosenberg said.

Los Angeles County paramedics worked on the injured at the scene, but all four died shortly after arrival at nearby hospitals, Rosenberg said.

The CHP spokesman said an unidentified drug was found in the sports car driver’s clothes. An autopsy was scheduled, but it will be several days before the coroner can determine whether the man had drugs in his system at the time of the accident, he added.
