Two men were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of committing six recent burglaries in the Indian Hills tract of Simi Valley after a resident surprised the pair in her home, Simi Valley police said.
Aaron Conn, 22, of Canoga Park and Charles Rouse, 21, a transient, are being held in the Ventura County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail, Sgt. Bob Robbins said.
Robbins said a woman returning home discovered the two ransacking the house in the northeast corner of the city. Both intruders fled the house, he said, and Conn was momentarily detained by a neighbor until Rouse knocked the neighbor to the ground. Conn was arrested at a nearby gas station and Rouse in a car nearby, Robbins said.
Police found $11,900 worth of stolen jewelry in the car, Robbins said. He said the jewelry was believed to have come from the five other homes burglarized since March.
