Santa Ana : Pedestrian Killed, 2 on Motorcycle Hurt in Crash
An unidentified pedestrian was killed Wednesday night when he was struck by a motorcycle on Bristol Street, in an accident that also injured the motorcyclist and his passenger, Santa Ana police said.
Police said the motorcyclist, Victor Quinones, 19, of Santa Ana, was heading south on Bristol about 10:20 p.m. when the bike struck the man, who was in a marked crosswalk near Myrtle Street.
The impact propelled the pedestrian 70 feet and killed him instantly, police said. He was dead on arrival at the UCI Medical Center in Orange, Officer David Salazar said. The man was carrying no identification, he said. Quinones was taken to Western Medical Center, where he was in stable condition. His passenger on the motorcycle, Jose Gomez, also 19, was treated at UCI Medical Center but did not require hospitalization.
Investigation of the accident is continuing, said Elbert Hill, police investigator, and charges against the driver may be filed.
