About 70 rangers took part in an air and ground search for a Simi Valley teen-ager reported missing in the rugged Ten Lakes area of Yosemite National Park. Dan Howard, 18, became separated from three hiking companions Tuesday after lagging behind on a trail at the 9,000-foot level near Tuolumne Peak. The Royal High School student was carrying two days of food, a down sleeping bag and camping equipment, park spokeswoman Lisa Dapprich said. Howard’s companions searched for him Tuesday and Wednesday before reporting him missing.
