Cruising China

Share

Michael Carlton’s article certainly did not refer to the China I have visited . . . no more spitting than we see on the average American baseball telecast . . . none of the dog manure which fouls our streets and lawns here in sunny Southern California . . . description of conditions in China is far more accurate for New York City where, in addition, you are likely to be robbed and mugged. While shopping in Bloomingdale’s recently my wife’s purse was snatched. The store says it is a frequent occurrence. Not in China, where punishment for such crimes is swift and severe.
