AWARDS--The Society of Children’s Book Writers has announced the following winners of its 1984 Golden Kite statuettes: For fiction, Belinda Hurmence for “Tancy” (Clarion Books); for nonfiction, James C. Giblin for “Walls: Defenses Throughout History” (Little, Brown); for illustration, Don Wood for “The Napping House” (Harcourt Brace Jovanovich).
