Three people, including a 13-year-old boy, died Monday as the result of traffic accidents that have occurred in the Canyon Country and Newhall areas since Saturday, the California Highway Patrol said Tuesday.

The teen-ager, Kenneth White, died Monday night three hours after his mother’s car was hit broadside by a driver who ran a stop sign, the CHP said.

According to the Newhall Division of the CHP, Kenneth’s mother, Katsue White, 37, of Canyon Country, was driving east on Shadow Pine Boulevard in Canyon Country at 6:50 p.m. when a car driven by Perry Whitaker, 22, of Valencia, collided with her auto.

Whitaker was treated at Newhall for minor injuries and released. He was not immediately cited by the CHP, which is continuing an investigation.

In another accident Monday in Canyon Country, Bianka Dworsky, 24, of North Hollywood, died after the car in which she was riding was struck by a speeding car that also crashed into three parked vehicles, CHP officers said.

The driver of the allegedly speeding car, Greggory Walwer, 23, of Canyon Country, was charged with felony vehicular manslaughter.

Investigators said Walwer was driving on Delight Street in Canyon Country at about 70 m.p.h. when he attempted to turn at Foxlane Drive. He smashed into two parked cars and a pickup truck, according to CHP Officer Harry Ingold. Walwer was treated for minor injuries and released from Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia.

Also on Monday, Richard Higgins, 47, of Burbank died at Newhall Hospital of injuries suffered Saturday when his car crashed on Bouquet Canyon Road half a mile north of Vasquez Canyon Road, according to the CHP.
