Fighter in Critical Condition
From Associated Press
Boxer Chris Schwenke of Salt Lake City, who lapsed into a coma after losing a light-heavyweight fight Monday night with Prince Mohammed at the Forum, has begun to show signs of consciousness but remained in critical condition, a spokeswoman at Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital said today. Schwenke, 28, who was floored in the final moments of the bout, underwent brain surgery to remove a blood clot that resulted from a punch he had taken.
