Avalon
The city of Avalon will begin improvements to its boating facilities this fall with a $500,000 loan from the state Boating and Waterways Commission. The commission awarded the loan to allow Avalon to re-deck its pier, build dinghy docks and put a new hoist at Cabrillo Mole, said Bill Satow, assistant director of the state agency. The improvements are expected to take at least 18 months, Satow said. The loan is for 30 years at an annual interest rate of 7.9%.
