A benefit performance of Mendelssohn’s “Elijah,” scheduled at the Music Center on Nov. 19, has been postponed until the fall of 1986, according to a spokeswoman for the fund-raising organization World Vision.

The concert was to benefit famine-relief programs in Africa through California Cares, a subsidiary organization of World Vision. According to the spokeswoman, representatives of World Vision chose to “concentrate on fund raising during the next year, rather than concert-giving.”
