San Fernando Valley : Company Repeats as Landscaping Winner
For the second consecutive year, Cacho Nursery & Landscape Co. of Sylmar has won the sweepstakes award of the San Fernando Valley chapter of the California Landscape Contractors Assn.
The association’s highest honor was given for work on the American Beauty Classics Homes and was sponsored by Valley Crest Tree Co.
California Landscape Inc. won both the F. H. Arklin Award for excellence in craftsmanship for the Kilroy Airport center of Canoga Park, and the Excellsior Award for excellence to a first-year member for the city of Burbank Park. The two awards were sponsored by Southland Sod Farms and Rain Bird Sales Inc., respectively.
Other awards presented by newscaster Kirsty Wilde at the ceremony at the Odyssey restaurant in Granada Hills were: First place, Courter Space, special effects; Kumme Landscaping, small residential landscape; Kumme Landscaping, large residential landscape; A Growing Concern, custom residential landscape; Garazi Landscape & Maintenance, renovation.
Others were Cacho Nursery & Landscape Co. Inc., renovation; California Landscape Inc., commercial living facilities; Dietz Hydroseeding Co., small commercial/industrial; Jack Sanders Landscape, medium commercial/industrial.

Outstanding Achievement Awards went to the following: Western Garden Landscape, small residential; Courter Scape, large residential; Sheridan Landscaping Inc., residential estates; Creative Plant Design, commercial living facilities.
