THE COMEDY SCENE IN ORANGE COUNTY

Louchlin--who performs tonight at the Laff Stop--isn’t a comedian, but his hypnosis act does offer its share of humorous moments. Louchlin will be at the Newport Beach club Tuesdays during August. Wednesday night comedians Robert Aguayo and Joey Gaynor open their four-night stand at the club with different comics emceeing each show. The latest entry on the Orange County comedy scene is Ravels, the nightspot inside the Registry Hotel in Irvine. On alternate Tuesdays, Ravels is hosting a Comedy Night featuring three stand-up comics. The next show is Aug. 13 with Tim Jones, Jackson Purdue and Chris Rein. In addition, assorted comedy clips will be showcased on the dance club’s eight video monitors.
