About 150 anti-nuclear activists participated in a three-day vigil outside the Ballistic Missile Office at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino marking the 40th anniversary of the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Throughout the observance, sponsored by the Inland Peace Action Committee of San Bernardino, protesters held placards proclaiming “Choose Life Not Death” and passed out flyers protesting nuclear arms to the employees of the missile headquarters.

Many of the 482 military personnel and 300 civilians at the office are involved in research and development of the Air Force’s MX and Midgetman missile programs, a Norton Air Force Base official said.
