The New Jersey Nets have chosen Dave Wohl, an assistant coach with the Lakers for three years, as their new head coach, replacing Stan Albeck, who became coach of the Chicago Bulls.

The announcement will be made at a news conference Monday in East Rutherford, N. J.

Wohl, 35, has not been an NBA head coach previously, but he has six years of experience as an assistant coach.

A 1971 third-round draft choice of the Philadelphia 76ers from the University of Pennsylvania, Wohl played with the 76ers, Portland, Buffalo, Houston and the Nets before retiring in 1979.
