Anaheim : Police Identify Slain Woman’s Boyfriend

Anaheim resident Lianne Lando’s boyfriend, who police are seeking for questioning in connection with her death early Saturday, has been identified as 30-year-old Gary James Eccher.

Police said friends of Lando saw Eccher Friday night at the rented house the two shared with a second woman at 2209 Midwood Lane. Lando’s battered, partially clad body was found in her bathroom about 3 p.m. Saturday by three other friends who were to attend a pool party at the house that afternoon.

“We’re actively searching for him (Eccher) and we’re working some good information on his whereabouts,” Police Sgt. John Haradon said. “We’re attempting to locate some close friends of his, but no one has come forward.”

Haradon said Lando, 38, might have drowned or been strangled, but that a coroner’s report confirming the cause of death probably would not be complete for several weeks. A coroner’s deputy said Lando apparently died about 5 a.m. Saturday.
