San Diego State Football, Basketball Broadcasts Will Be Heard, but Not Seen

As of now, San Diego State sports fans won’t be able to see their teams on television. However, they’ll once again be able to hear Aztec football and basketball games on KSDO (1130 AM) radio.

This is the third year of a five-year contract between KSDO and SDSU. The contract extends until May 31, 1987, according to Jim Price, KSDO general manager.

“Financially, it has not been as successful as we’d like it to be,” Price said. “But as a service to the community, it has been very successful. Sometimes you do things that don’t bring a great return, but you do them because you think you should.”

Price said the station has doubled the number of sponsors it had last year for football.

“The sponsors anticipate the football team doing well,” Price said.
