Share

Amtrak this week began providing twice-a-day bus service from Glendale to Union Station in Los Angeles for connections with trains bound for San Diego.

The buses, which originate in Oxnard and stop in Simi Valley and Van Nuys, are only for passengers purchasing tickets to points along the San Diegan line.

Passengers will be picked up at the Glendale Amtrak station at Cerritos Avenue and Railroad Street Monday through Friday at 9:30 a.m. and 5:10 p.m., and on weekends at 9:30 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. for the 20-minute ride to Union Station. Return service from Union Station to Glendale will also be available.

Bus fares will be included as part of the train ticket cost, which is $18.75 for a regular one-way ticket from Glendale to San Diego. First-class tickets cost an additional $3.

The service is in addition to the regular evening train from Glendale to downtown and San Diego and the morning train from San Diego, as well as the bus connections to the San Joaquin train line.
