KFMB-TV (Channel 8) reporter Jesse Macias filed suit Wednesday against the owners of an ultralight airplane that crashed while he was flying in the plane to do a story.
Macias’ suit in Superior Court seeks an undisclosed amount of damages.
Named as defendants are Quad Cities Ultralight Aircraft Corp.; Hegar Products Inc.; Ultimate High; Roger Chase; Lorin Ellsworth; pilot George Evangelou, and Rudolph Sonowski.
The plane crashed Jan. 10 on a hillside near the San Vicente reservoir. The suit alleges that the plane was defective and the parts on it failed in flight.
Macias suffered back injuries in the crash.
