Castaic Collision Burns Auto, Kills Driver
An unidentified man was killed when his car crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer rig Saturday on the Golden State Freeway near Castaic. The car careened through a guardrail, fell 40 feet and burst into flames, the California Highway Patrol said.
The motorist was traveling south on the freeway a mile north of Lake Hughes Road just before 4 a.m. when he hit the truck, Officer Janet Engler said.
An autopsy will be conducted by Los Angeles County coroner’s office, Engler said.
