Share

A two-phase master plan that will expand the Oxnard Civic Center from 9.27 to 13 acres has been approved by the Oxnard City Council.

The plan, prepared by Archiplan, an architecture and urban planning firm, will add no new buildings, but will renovate and widen the City Hall, adding 80,000 square feet. Two buildings now housing city departments will be demolished.

The library building at C and 2nd streets will be renovated into a three-story structure by the year 2010. Architect Mark Hall, a principal of Archiplan, suggested funding the program through bond measures.
